Finally, the miraculous occasion of which we have dreamed for so long. Today, despite its stranglehold on the hardcover New York Times Bestseller List -- last week it ranked No. 3 -- The Da Vinci Code arrives in paperback. Is there anyone on Earth who still has managed to avoid Dan Brown's tale of self-flagellating monks, Jesus Christ's sex life and The Last Supper? Hard to imagine, but it's a good bet that the book will earn a permanent spot on the paperback list any second now.
and as proof, Warner Books, which produced Jon Stewart's bestselling America (The Book), has something in the works from another Comedy Central stalwart, The Colbert Report's Stephen Colbert, due sometime in 2007. The brilliant -- and I do mean brilliant -- Colbert is a Daily Show alum and was a contributor to America. No word on what he'll be writing about, but we're guessing bears and BLTs, as well as the truth, will figure prominently.
