SYDNEY (Billboard) - In the wake of their postponement last week, the 10 final shows of U2's Vertigo tour will be rescheduled for November, singer Bono told an Australian TV show Monday. An official announcement could be made as early as Tuesday, he hinted. Bono, who has been holidaying in Sydney with his family since last week, would not comment on press reports that the shows were postponed because guitarist the Edge's daughter has leukemia. LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A former television game show host and his wife were killed on Monday when their light plane crashed in the ocean off the coastal suburb of Santa Monica. Peter Tomarken, 63, host of the 1980s series "Press Your Luck," and his wife, Kathleen, had just taken off in their Beechcraft about 9:45 a.m. PST (1745 GMT) when the engine failed and the plane went down near Santa Monica Pier before horrified onlookers.
TORONTO (Hollywood Reporter) - A French-language, gay-themed coming-of-age drama about a large Catholic family dominated Canada's Genie film awards Monday, taking home 10 prizes, including best film and director. Jean-Marc Vallee's Quebec-made "C.R.A.Z.Y." also won honors for original screenplay, actor (Michel Cote), supporting actress (Danielle Proulx) and a host of craft awards. It went into the event with 12 nominations.
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Jazz legend Miles Davis, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Monday, may be resurrected in a biographical movie with Don Cheadle playing the lead, Davis' family said. His nephew, Vince Wilburn, told reporters after Davis was inducted into the Hall of Fame that Sony Pictures was working on a movie as well as planning several CDs to celebrate what would have been Davis' 80th birthday later this year.
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Sitcom veterans Ed O'Neill and Christine Baranski have joined an untitled family comedy at CBS. The project revolves around a young couple who moves to the woman's hometown and has to deal with her complicated extended family. O'Neill and Baranski will play the woman's parents.
